I have 2 different SA kids who are raised by other family members; one is by his grandparents and the other is by his Uncle. With "Mother's Day" week coming up I'm not sure how to approach it without making them feel left out or sad. Ideas?

    (Sorry to thread jack! )
I once worked in a classroom where several kids had two moms, raised by grandparents, etc. We just changed it to "someone you love" and the kids made two presents for their two moms, and/or grandparents.
When I have situations like this, I just plan on buying extra craft materials since some kids have lots of people raising them. The other kids never seemed to mind that some kids would make more than one project, so it worked out fine.

My moms are big into coffee so the kids are going to use sharpie markers to decorate a white coffee mug. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes and it's permanent. I figured I would do this with a small bag of coffee.

Just a warning that this can turn out a mess. We did them last year. A lot of the colors just turned mud color after baking. I can't remember which ones stayed true, blue maybe. I had to scrap them and start over. It was a definite Pinterest Fail.

And mine all washed right off the mug - despite baking it!

I want to do these, but I probably better start ASAP if I want them to have any "hair" by Mother's Day. Would love to do questionaires but only one of my kids talks, !!

I did the flower pots a couple of years ago, and they were really cute. The kids planted flowers in them and were thrilled with the whole process. I have a different group this year, so I can repeat now.

But, the necklaces are so, so cute!!!

I love my moms. They have been so good to me, so I might do more than one thing.
I did the fingerprints flowers, and I have seen the feet butterfly, but never thought to use it to decorate the pot....I love it!
