Please Recommend Some Books/Websites to Me

    Hi all,
I started my daycare several months ago and have a very young group of kids right now (2 and under, unless we have a drop in for the day). In a typical day, we do a lot of free play, reading, puzzles, and go outside to play for a couple hours. These kids are great independent players, which is awesome. I do a sensory activity several days a week because I love it and my group really responds to it. We do coloring and crafts a few times a week for the same reason. I don't have any structured learning time. However, we do learning throughout the day. For example, I have a bunch of foam letters in the playroom and I'll point to the letters that start the kids names or sing the alphabet while we run from letter to letter.

All that to say, I am looking for book recommendations to improve my program. I've read Nanny D's book, which was helpful. I'm looking for topics like classroom management, child development, activities, etc. I'm just a reader by nature so anything that might help a new daycare provider build a great program would be helpful. Thanks!

    Some of my favorites are:

http://www.pre-kpages.com (If you Facebook, she has an awesome Facebook page and posts activities and tips from behavior experts)

Pinterest - Any activity you need, and it's terribly addictive ::

http://csefel.vanderbilt.edu - behavior, tons of free social emotional activities

I'm a reader by nature too. I live reading about family child care. Sounds like you're doing a really great job!
