    Behavior Charts

    Does anyone use behavior charts to promote good behavior? If so, how do you use it.
    Thanks!

      I've used them in the past in different ways. I think the way it's worked best for me, was when I caught them doing something good, they'd get a sticker on their chart. It might've been 1x a day, maybe 3x a day. Once they got 20 stickers on their chart, they could pick out something from the prize box.
      What I found happened with that way was the kids(at least the ones who cared) would try really hard to be helpful, polite, whatever, to earn stickers.
      I've also made something like say a picture of a gumball machine and hung it on the wall. Then when I caught them being good, they could tape another colored circle inside until it was filled up. Then you could have something special, such as PJ day or pizza party. They worked together as a team to earn that and the peer pressure did have an effect.

        I have a "Are you being Awesome?" chart.
        Green = Awesome
        Yellow = Warning
        Blue = Think Tank (aka Time Out and lose electronic privileges)
        Red = Letter Home

        Its more to keep track of who I have warned, who is a strike away from a letter home or who is getting one. But if I even touch their green card, most will stop doing whatever it is that has my attention.
