    DSS Complaint???

I have five children enrolled all 2 and up. I was having 3 use the potty and changing two when someone came knocking on my door. The window in the changing room was wide open and I could see two women with like a leather folder type binder. I did not know these women nor did I see any name badges. Well, I have poop all over a child, the changing table and my gloved hands so I continued to change this child. Before I could get back in the main room, they were gone. I am a little concerned of strangers knocking on my door in mid morning...

I am also concerned that I have gotten a complaint. I am in the process of getting licensed and awaiting all the background checks to come in. I am a very nervous person and things like this bother me...

No information or card was left on my door. However, I do know my neighbor who just moved in has children over the weekends but never during the weekday...I wonder if that was DSS looking for her...
I have waited all day for these ladies to return and no one...I am very legal and not doing anything wrong...but I sure do not want a complaint...

I am sure they would have left a card, the wouldn't have just left so quickly. It was likely something else. I am always a worrier also, but you are likely fine.

Around here they would have been from the Baptist Church as Easter is approaching

My first thought was Jehovah Witness. They usually come in pairs around here at all sorts of different times of day.

Don't stress over it. They'll be back if it was serious.

I am an anxious person so I feel Ya!
I don't think they would have left if they were there to check on you. I would think they would call to verify you are open .

I worry A LOT! Honestly, I have been diagnosed with OCD over my worrying and obsessing on thoughts...LOL

I would have thought they would have stopped at my neighbors home as well but did not see them after I was done with the poop...but I was not longer than 2-3 min. I had to change her clothes as well.

I know I have been getting letters from a Christian academy wanting me to give their information out to my parents. I was thinking it could be them...or maybe someone saw my daycare all over the web is trying to sell me something..

I have never dealt with a complaint before so I am unsure of the process..

I was also thinking it was a client I dismissed in Feb. for non payment and refusing to follow any of my rules. She was furious with me and I thought she would make a false complaint.

Were they in a vehicle? If not, they were likely walking door to door--probably some type of evangelists. I agree with the others--if they left that easily, they probably weren't from licensing.

I wouldn't worry. Could be parishioners or salesmen, we get a lot of activists from the local college wanting to get our signature or asking us to volunteer to a cause. All are regularly clothed people with binders. If DSS wanted to get in touch with you I would think they would call or wait longer knowing you were inside with children.

ITA - with a complaint I'm sure they would call if you hadn't opened the door when you were supposed to be open.

sorry have to throw this out there, but are you doing something you are not supposed to that is causing you to freak out like this? If you have nothing to hide, then so what....even if someone did complain so what.

If the OP has anxiety like I do, that doesn't matter. Our vehicles are older and paid off, and I still freak out if a tow truck slows down in front of my house "oh no the repo man" is the first thing in my mind until I realize we haven't had a vehicle payment in years.

got it....I don't know what really that means anxiety to think that way. is it like an illness? Sorry I am just trying to understand. I looked up anxiety and it just says an inner state of unpleasant turmoil
