By capturing the data electronically, parents will be able to access that type of info quickly. Moreover, the app will eventually be able to provide statistics and identify trends, e.g. how long was the average nap the last 4 weeks, what's my child's favorite foods, etc...
I think an app like this can help daycares becomes more efficient, and parents can be more informed.- Flag

The first version would work with any device with a web browser, and would optimize for the specific device, laptop, tablet, iPhone, Android. (I just mentioned the latter two because they are the most common.)- Flag

Considering the fact that my state will soon be enforcing a daily health check that must be documented I would be interested in something like this. I also dream up that we could click links to the issue that may be occurring and have it emailed to the parent directly.
So example the kid is vomiting and had fever. We can log this state when child can return supply links to virus that may cause these issues along with when the child can return.
Like you child had the following symptoms
Fever then a list of what to do to help reduce this fever
Vomiting how to help vomiting and ECT
When to call the doctor
When your child is safe to come back
This is what in vision making one day.
We could also link immunization records to it to prevent missing them and etc
I guess it would be more of an overall daily health check app.
Manually I do this, it's a pain but helpful to resolving many health issues with the kids. It's been amazing that I've been able to tell parents because of keeping these logs. And it's nothing but facts.
Sorry I'm just dreaming out loud
And you're not dreaming at all.- Flag

I would love all of this in an app! I currently use Minute Menu Kids through my food program and I copy/paste their daily report in an email to parents. It takes a lot of time to write individual notes about each child, but I do because they all read them. An app would be easier.- Flag

as much as i don't want to have to do it, it is soon going to be come required as part of our QRIS. We are in the pilot phase right now and I was handed this spread sheet check off list that we will have to fill out daily. I hate keeping piles of paper and hate having to fill things out. I have 4 ipads in my house, so mounting one by the diaper changing area would be easy to do and that would be the easiest time for us to do it.- Flag

Also here is a collection of other daycare software. You can take the highlights of these programs and maybe come up with something user friendly and not as expensive as a majority of these:

Here is the QRIS website. It gives a run down of where each state is at in the process and what the state requirements are.

It's quite frustrating just sitting around waiting......
thanks for this information. I am going to go check it out now.- Flag

I do not do daily reports for all kids. Even with infants, my mind is in 1000 places at once, so as the baby is going down for nap the first thing on my mind wouldn't be to grab my phone and document.
Honestly, with a full load of kids I could be documenting all day. xx ate this. xx went poop. xx had a wet diaper. xx had --ounces of formula....times however many kids we have. Some providers have 12 kids, that's a whole lot of documenting.
I have used daily reports in the past. I ended up trying to play catch up and remember who did what and when at the end of the day. Only to find a week's worth of my reports crumpled at the bottom of the diaper bag, apparently not even looked at since the parents still asked me for the info verbally.
So, that is how I do daily reports, verbally if asked.- Flag

Baby Connect
We use Baby Connect in our program. We can customize what we need to log for for each child for instance what we log for an infant would be different for what we log for a toddler. This app saved us a lot of work and keeps the communication going. It lets us message the parents and upload photos to them. The parents love it and have expressed multiple times how nice it is to be able to access it whenever they want. It was not expensive either, $5.- Flag
