    Tickle Me Plant

Has anyone ever grown one of these? I'm thinking of trying it, it looks like fun for the daycare kids! Anyone with experience? Tricks? Are they hard or easy to grow? Thanks!

I am even debating growing enough for everyone to take one home, possibly for Mother's day with some sort of poem or phrase with "tickled" in it. Tickled pink that you are my mom? Would love ideas for that too, thanks!!

It could be the late hour, but it was both annoying and amusing me how aggressively the people were poking the plant. Calm down commercial people.

Anyway.... My sister saw these plants and took video when she was in Hawaii. I don't know how well they grow indoors, but they are very cool.

I remember these when I lived in Puerto Rico as a child. I also remember that we would be yelled at for intentionally poking the bushes because it would take them a while to get back to normal.

I do think they are cool and would totally buy one for me!

I had that plant last year, the kids loved it! It also closes the leaves in the late afternoon and re open them in the morning so for the kids it was really "alive"...but then as it grew it developed thorns so no one was to touch it anymore!

I'm placing an order today. I have been reading a little bit about them and they say you can cut the thorns off. I'm excited to see what happens.

                  TickleMe Plants for Every Child

TickleMe Plants are one plant that every one of our students grow. They are the only plants that will close their leaves and lower their branches when tickled, the sun sets or placed in the dark. It is a great way to get anyone excited about nature and gardening as well as to show that plants are living things. The TickleMe Plant Book is a great addition to anyone who wants to know more about this plant.
