Constant Crying

I just recently started a new 18 month old girl. She is a handful to say the least. She constantly throws toys, doesn't play at all and cries at every transition or when she doesn't get her way. She cried for a full hour today because she didn't want to be outside. She cries the whole time I am changing her diaper...i am at my wits end!

Does anyone have any advice besides ignoring? It's only been two weeks and I am considering terming because of the stress, on me and the other kids. Will it get better or should I term? I have spoken to the dad about it and I can see that she is his little princess

Has she been in childcare before? How does she do at naptime? Does she feed herself or cry through the whole thing? Do you see any glimpse of improvement at all? Is she clinging to you all day?

I had a 1 yo who wouldn't sleep at all, she hung onto my leg all day, and I couldn't spend any time with the others plus I ha 1 dck going thru a biting stage at the time. I always allow a 2 week trial, on day 7 they asked me if she could keep coming and by then I'd had so much stress built up it was affecting my physically. I said no. They went to a center, she's back and is doing so amazing. She had come straight here from being rocked to sleep in grandma's arms, no wonder it was difficult for her.

If it's stressing you out to the point of not being able to care for the others or making you sooo stressed and affecting you too, then maybe it's not going to work out.

Kids will eventually acclimate(most of the time) but if it's hurting everything else in the process, it may not be the best for you.

I spoke to the dad at pick up time. I planted the "seeds" of termination just so when and if termination happens they aren't blindsided by it. They need to make changes at home setting up boundaries and falling asleep independantly. I outlined all of this so we will see what happens next week...
