Anyone use an air purifier? I was looking at some of the UV ones and wanted some input before buying.

We just got a lab puppy in August and since he tends to live in the house more than our other dogs did, we noticed both my DH and myself were suffering from allergy like symptoms so figured we would start with an air purifier.
We bought a Honeywell with a Hepa filter.
In all honesty, I really don't know if it has worked/helped or not but the filter has been dirty so I suppose that is a sign...
! I was no help. Sorry.

Some advertise that they produce ozone: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Ionic-Air-...e-New/29589535
Ozone makes your house smell like fresh outdoor air but it is bad for your lungs, especially if you have allergies or asthma.
I would google a model you are interested in + ozone. Or check the packaging or check consumer products.- Flag

I had a UV light installed in my furnace. This helps keep the mold spores inside your system from growing and getting passed through, which is a huge cause of allergies. We also have an electrostatic air filter from Honeywell. We just take it out every month or two and put the pieces in the dishwasher. It's the most efficient way to filter without reducing air flow.- Flag
