Food Program Lady Is 1 In A Million!

This week is vacation. Got more chaos than usual. I had a training last night. I'm just not catching up this week as well as I wish I could. She comes in at 9:45, I've got kids at the kitchen table, all covered in paint. She remembers those days, she was a provider for many years.

She copies all my numbers off my menu and in/out papers. Except I realize I didn't put my count down for yesterday's meals and forgot to put down what time everybody left yesterday.

Then I've got 3 yo dcg who is pottying and for some reason needs to visit the bathroom 5x while the lady is here. Two dcgs are painting themselves up to their elbows. Another is tasting the paint. Ok, we're all done here guys, time to wash up. Then 4 yo dcg lays across the floor and doesn't let anybody cross her path. Oh good, her bratty side is here.

I'm so glad tomorrow's Friday. But the FP visitor is super understanding and a wonderful person.

She's probably seen a lot worse. Such as kids parked in front of the TV all day, kids whose hands are never washed etc. She was probably thrilled to see them doing something creative.

Mine is great too! Very understanding, she's been there!

The kids ALWAYS act up when she is here, always seems to be the worst day for a visit! She always says "I bring out the worst in kids everywhere I go"

              Mine is awesome too!

An old neighbor of ours passed away last week. His memorial service was at 1PM last Thursday. As that's in the middle of nap time, I made plans to go and hubby, son and daughter would hold down the fort while I was gone. I was planning on leaving at 12:45 PM. Kids were fed and ready for nap.

My food program lady showed up at 12:40...

She took one look at me (I was in Sunday best clothes and heels) and said "I'll be quick!" I told her I was leaving for a funeral in 5 minutes. She grabbed my sign in and out book...flicked through and saw it was all up to date. She asked what we had for lunch and marked in in her book. She said "You're always perfect and there's never a problem here." Then she hugged me and left!!! About one minute flat!!

Oh good grief! It sounds like you were about ready to pull your hair out! It's so nice when you the people who have to check on us, whether they're the food program monitor, specialist/supervisor, or with a program to grade our daycare for one of the rating scales are nice, understanding, and down to earth. It makes the visit so much better for everyone involved when they understand that you will have days that don't go perfectly planned when you work with children.

I love my food program monitor! She's in and out fairly quickly. If I'm busy, she'll get the information off the paperwork herself. If she arrives unannounced after we've finished and cleaned up from the meal, she just asks what we had. I absolutely love having her as a food program monitor.

                  Mine too!!!

Love my food program all together! I've learned after calling them for food related issues, they usually have the answer for other daycare issues too.

My food program lady did daycare too, so she gets it, is so easy going and friendly.....know this sounds tacky, but I look forward to her visits
