I don't word stuff the best either. Before when dcd didn't pay, her parents paid so I don't know what is different now, unless she is planning on quitting and parents are being told I quit or something. I don't know. There were not any signs of her quieting though.

Anybody else have ideas for what to say?

I think thrifty lady gave a great piece to use.

      You could say this:

I understand that you are experiencing some finical difficulties at this time, however, running a business with great success like ours requires on time payments from all clients. I would love to be able to help out every family when they are having financial issues, but if I did, I would have gone out of business by now.

per our contract, payment is due if you child is here or not. which means that even if you decided to keep DCG home all next week, you will again owe daycare fees for all of next week. IF you wish to terminate your contract with us, please remember that there is a full two week written notice of termination required before fees will stop accumulating. If you would like to submit notice today, please submit your request for termination by email and we will begin the termination of contract as of today. YOur total outstanding fees owed will be xxxxxx and are due within 14 calendar days. You may choose to send dcg during this time or not, that is completely your choice, however all fees must be paid up to date before she can be readmitted into care.

I hope that by working together we can work this out.

Question for you.....are you willing to work with DCM on this at all?

Absolutely. I have had this child for 2 yrs. I don't want to lose her. I have always been willing to work with payment if I can, but I can't right now. I need that payment just like she needs her paycheck. I have this kid 12 hours a day and only make $3 a day more than an infant. I have been more than flexible. I don't want to give her the impression that I want her to withdrawal. KWIM? If I make sense.

Well I would be betting that she won't withdraw. But I would make her pay a good chunk of it and MAYBE work out a payment plan. Problem is if you let it slide, you may find you end up providing care for free and then she leaves anyway, that is what happened to me when I let it slide before.

if this is the case this is what I would do.

Dcm, I understand that you are in a financial bind, but just as you rely on your paycheck to live, I do as well. I really want to be able to help you, I don't want dcg to be misplaced because of this issue.

I am willing to help you out this time, but please understand that this has to be a one time thing. Do you think that you can pay at least half on monday and then get caught up by this coming friday? This is the best that I can do, along with waving the late fee. If you have a better option I am open to talk about it.
