    Drop-In And Maximum Capacity

I'm confused about maximum capacity. If my maximum capacity is eight and I have four full-timers and 1 part-timer does that mean on a daily basis I can care for up to three drop-ins on any given day?

Yes, as long as you maintain ratios by age. If you have 8 there, 2 would have to be school age and you could have no more than two infants (under two years old) when 8 children are there. If you have 6 children there, 3 of them can be infants.

Based on your other thread, I am confused. Are you caring for 5 children at one time or are you babysitting different children from one family at a time on different days/hours?

Please don't be confused. They're scenarios that I've either seen first hand, or heard about second/third hand in other family care homes or a plan of what I want when I start my own. I'm sorry that I didn't clarify that, I should've.

Looks like you figured it out. I have 1 ft dck and 10 pt kids, never more than 8 at any one time. But when people see my cubbies or roster, they think holy cow she is over ratio! Because its a lot of kids, never all here at the same time
