Neighborhood on lock down :(

One of my neighbors messaged me saying the police are looking for someone in our neighborhood and have police at each entrance.
My doors are locked and alarm is set but that's all I can do.
My neighbor did tell the police that I run a home daycare and have a house full of kids.
I have no idea whats going on. I wish there was a way to get knowledge of neighborhood activity.

We also have someone coming to look at our house tonight...we are hoping for an offer... funny that their is police activity on the same day

OMG this happened to us when we were selling our house down south. We were actually showing it and the house across the street was covered in police cars, police guns drawn. They had a high speed car pursuit and it ended up on foot. they chased the guy through everyone's yards and I guess the suspect hopped the fence to that house and hid.

Yeah, we didn't sell it that day.....

Have you called your local police station? They should be able to give you some details. Especially if you will be having pick ups soon. Even though your neighbor already told them you have children in the house, i would tell them again. Our local police seem to station someone close to my home when needed due to the amount of children in my care.

I didnt think about doing that! Picks up wont be for a while...but its nap time so kids are in different rooms.

I hate being so isolated and not knowing what is happening. I cant even see if the police are even there still. My brother in law is coming over though. he only lives about 15 min away. at least ill feel better with someone in the house.

if you have a smart phone there is an app that you can upload to your phone
it is a police scanner, but you will have to be able to understand 10codes.

I used to love to listen to them back in the day.

There are free apps for police scanners. They have them for every city. When Ferguson was in high gear, I downloaded their police scanner and could hear it all.

i called the police station and they said there was a burglary around the corner which caused the neighborhood to go into lock down while they tried to catch the guy. The lady didn't say if they caught the guy or not but it everything was being diffused.
