    rash - face only

Before we knew of the measle outbreak in our area, one of my dck's developed a rough, red rash on the face and right arm only. There was nothing on the trunk or legs. There were no other symptoms, no fever, signs of illness, nothing.

It's been over a month and no one else developed anything.

Any ideas of what it may have been?

Can fifth disease only be on the face? That's the one that looks like slapped cheeks isn't it?

You could Google rash on face only and see if anything looks like what the child had.

Not eczema. It felt like sandpaper, real rough.

That's what we thought at first. The child's skin was dry prior to the rash so I thought maybe someone had used a lotion on the face and arm.

Wow I really spelled that one wrong . Rashes can be tricky, so many out there that all look similar!

Recently I ate some sesame & honey candy which I have had before . This time I got an allergic reaction . Little bumps ( kind of like pimples) began spreading over my cheeks , then down my neck and up my face . And it was itchy .

I did not think it was the candy so I ate more and then it spread over my whole face ,down my arms & chest as well .I sopped eating it and with 2 days it began clearing up .
