We do not live in the artic

I have 2 families that over dress their kids.

Our weather has been in the mid to high 70's.

These kids come in layered with 2 or 3 shirts (combo short and long sleeved) and heavy jackets. Yes, 3 shirts!

Dcm tells me this morning, "Don't take off her sweater because she has a runny nose." She has on a long sleeved onesie, a short sleeved shirt, and a heavy sweatshirt, along with long pants. I already took off the sweatshirt and may take off the t-shirt before long.

Yes, she has a runny nose. Every single one of my dck's and household has a runny nose, sore throat, cough, and red eyes. We have had a mulch fire going on since Saturday. The fire is less than 5 miles from my house. There's nothing that can be done about it.

:: We are in Kansas. Yesterday it was 68 and breezy. We were outside in long sleeve t-shirts. I was wearing short sleeves and flip flops. We dress the way you describe when its about 30 degrees.

I am up in north CA and our mornings are really cold, well cold for us around 40. SO parents way way over dress here too. By noon it's low to high 70's as well.

I have asked so many times please dress your child in LAYERS!!! But they do and the layers are all long sleeve after long sleeve. I agree with you Shar, they act like their child is going to a blizzard.

or my favorite. a long sleeve, then a hoodie, then a jacket vest, then a jacket and a beanie and glove. It was 51 that day.

or even better, it's in the 90's and parents are still dressing their child like it's 45 outside....I have parents from some cultures that do this all year around.

At least they have clothes on! I live in Wisconsin and about two months ago(so it was cold maybe 20's) a 7 week old INFANT showed up in just a onesie! I lost my mind.

I could never live where some of you live. If I require more than a t-shirt and a light weight sweatshirt, I feel claustrophobic.

I am just learning how to wear shoes. I've worn sandals 365 days a year, rain or shine. My dd bought me a pair of Skecher's Gowalk2's for Christmas. I went out and bought another pair because I love them so much.

I have a problem with parents bringing their children in without socks, shoes, and coats. We live in VA so it is in the 40's. One morning it was very very cold in the teens and I had one child with no shoes, socks or coat and another come in with a coat but no shoes, and another come in dressed for alaska! LOL last year I had a 4 year old boy that wore no socks or shoes so how can we go out and play??? crazy...

I also hate being cold and miss living in Sunny FL! I keep my heat on 75* and don't care! I'd rather pay the bill than shiver and have to have layer after layer!

I always wear my yoga pants, and in winter I buy thicker ones. I wear heavy socks and big slippers indoors. I wear a cami, short sleeve shirt, long sleeve shirt and hoodie!

It's 31 here and a snow/ice day for schools. One dcg has a tank top on today. At least she brought a winter coat and is wearing pants.

It must be a woman thing! I keep ours at 73 and don't care either. I pay the bill, I'm not going to be freezing! I use the excuse now that "the kids can't be cold" to turn the heat up on extra cold days! Hubbys constantly going behind me and turning it back down.

I don't wear shorts. Ever. I would die in California in the summer time. The closest I come to shorts is capri's unless I'm going swimming, in which case I'll wear shorts OVER my suit, but that's the only type of shorts I even own! Actually, I don't wear sandals either unless I'm swimming..... That probably seems REALLY weird to all you ladies in the warm states! Pants and tennis shoes 365 days a year!

Todays attire? Scrub pants, heavy socks, slippers, tshirt and zip up Columbia extra warm fleece hoodie! But it's 31 degrees with 20MPH winds!

That's funny. Those kids must be sweating! The other day it was 43 here and all the kids showed up in short-sleeved shirts. I admit I started out wearing a long-sleeved shirt and had to switch it out at naptime. I was too warm. At least its the same temperature inside no matter what.
