So a family gave us their one-month notice in late December, so their last day was to be Jan. 30, this Friday.
They came for the first two days of January, then we were closed for some snow days and they have not returned since. On the first day that we were open that they did not come, we had to remind them that we need to hear of attendance by 9:00 am each day.
Every day after that they let us know by 9 that their child would not attend that day.
Until last week, when they did not contact us at all after Tuesday Jan 20th - no call/no show for Wed, Thurs, and Fri.
Our handbook states that contracts will be terminated after three consecutive no call/no shows, and the contract says extended absences without written notice are cause for termination.
They contacted us today to say that they might need to come later this week.
Do we enforce the handbook on their last days and say we cannot take the child? Or do we just do it since they paid for all of this month anyway?
Thoughts?
