    Ready to Term TODAY!!

I have a family of 3. One is afterschool bUT the others are full time. They have had behavior issues from the beginning but the last few weeks have gotten REALLY bad!! Timeout does not seem to work. As for today I have dealt with them hitting, kicking, spitting, yelling and screaming during nap and when placed in timeout. One of the children got slapped across the face while I was preparing lunch and has a red mark on their face. Not only were they hitting etc. at the other children, they did this to me also. Mostly when they were placed in time out because they kept getting up and running to hit someone else. They screamed and yelled for 2 hours during nap time so not ONE of the kids got a nap. They were even placed in a separate area. I have considered terming them but after today I am ready to say effective immediately!! Is there a process I need to go through such as documentation of behaviors etc. ? Thanks for any advice or input!!

Nope, you can term whenever you want, well depending on what your contract/handbook says. I have a policy in mine that states that I can terminate at any time.

Sounds horrible. I have a child who was difficult and now 1.5 years later, he is better, but there were many times when I wanted to term so badly, but never did because I loved his mom. I learned from that experience and will never go through that again!

Sorry you are dealing with this . If I had a child that was hitting me I would term . I assume you have already spkoe with the parents about the kids behavior.

Ok thanks!! I may try to give another week. If things dont improve I will definitely term them because I can not risk another child getting seriously hurt. I have spoke with Mom about the behavior. She always has an excuse of why such as they didn't get enough sleep or they had a change in routine. She is not difficult to get along with but doesn't seem to have control of them either.

Honestly, if they have marked another child I'd term today- you could risk losing another family (or more) in the meantime! If it is not a rare occurance, it could out you in danger, liability-wise! Not worth losing your business over

Only If the parents were actively working WITH me would I consider keeping the kids any longer. And that's not the case here.

3 kids is a lot of money to lose, but the pp's are right. What happens if you lose one of the others? If you are willing to give it another week, I would let dcm know that they have till the end of the week to shape up, or they are out.
