So irritating. An unlicensed and illegal provider is accused of inappropriately touching a 4 year old.
(and before legally unlicenseds get upset, they had 10 children in their care - even if a couple of those kids were related, this is way too many kids than allowed for unlicensed care. NYS has a very low number of kids one can care for being unlicensed)
And of course the comment section is full of "this is why we don't use home day cares!"
Thankfully there are some comments saying the parents should be charged for sending their kids to illegal providershappyface
At the same time, the woman has been babysitting for over 30 years seemingly without incident. She's undergoing chemo so the retired husband has been helping out. This is also why I don't allow my husband to have anything to do with the day care kids...

All I can think is I hope to God those ARE false accusations! The problem parent I recently termed accused her last provider's husband of being inappropriate because her daughter was really shy around him and she got an "uneasy feeling." I NEVER leave my husband alone with daycare kids, because although I trust him completely and without question, I'll never trust daycare parents. It takes ONE person to make a phone call and ruin someone's life forever.

On the other hand, if he did it, fry him.

This doesn't sit right with me. I just get the feeling that these accusations are false. And I have personal experience with sexual abuse in children, so I'm a little jaded. The operation was illegal however, whether he did it or not.

I do think some of the responsibility lies on the parents when something goes wrong at an illegally ran childcare. They made the choice to put their children in an environment that is not monitored and is left unchecked. They can see with their own eyes that there are too many children present. If they don't know how many children the provider can legally have, that's on them too. Minimum standards are readily available to the public. A quick Google search would tell them anything they wanted to know.
