    Overnight Care?

Does anyone provide it? Can you share what kind of rate you charge compared to your normal daily rate? TIA!

I don't provide it. A provider would have to be awake the whole time so it isn't worth hiring someone to do a night shift.
I would charge the same rate as I do for daytime.

Nope won't do 3rd shift/overnight ever again... tried it for 6 months 10 years ago and it's not worth it especially if you have first shift kids or your own to take care of. I never got enough sleep, never made enough extra $ and my dd hated sharing the house. Babies & younger children crying in the middle of the night was not helpful for my own child's health & schooling

Be sure to check your state's regulations. I know that I have read on here before that some states have very strict regs on how overnight care is done. Some require that the provider stay awake all night.

Personally, I wouldn't do overnight care in addition to daytime care. I would burnout very quickly.

Thanks all. This isn't for me but for a friend. One of her DCP's has asked her or her son to watch the kids for an overnight when they go out of town. She is trying to get an idea of what would be a reasonable rate. Thanks.

I would charge $100 a night to make it worth my time. This I isnt based on anything other than me wanting $100
