6 month old not on a schedule

I've been caring for a DCB for 4 months now. DCPs are very nice, but are first time parents, and have the best, happiest, smartest baby ever...(rolling eyes...those kind of parents) My problem is that they won't attempt to get him on a schedule at all...sleeps and wakes whenever...****les a bottle all day...only feeds him orange baby food...because this is what he wants (Says the DCPs) I can't get him to eat more than 2 ounces at a time, and that takes nearly 30 mins because he won't keep latched on to the bottle. (Nipple size is heavy flow...he just wants to mess with the bottle or look around the room) It's never taken me longer than 2 months to get an infant on the schedule here, but the parents won't get on board because they don't want to upset him He's pretty fussy here because I try to stick to our schedule and can't feed and hold him non stop, as I have other children that require my attention too. Should I hold out and hope this gets better as he gets older, or just part ways with the family?

I am having the same issues with mine. Had him since 2 months and things were going smoothly, but now he is wanting to eat an ounce at a time and then spitting the bottle out. He is not going down for naps easily and waking 30 mnutes into them. He used to be so content playing on the floor, but now, he just crawls and follows me around and when I am n the floor with him, he whines and just hangs on me, regardless of what I do. Mom doesn't seem to be following a schedule and he is only here a few days a week, so I feel like it is a constant retrain every time he comes now. Getting exhausting.

I wish I could give advice, but I am in the same boat and could use the advice my self

Sounds like my 11 month dcg. She only comes 3 days a week and was just gone for 2 weeks for the holidays. Today is going better than yesterday, but little one won't nap longer than 20min. I am patting "night night" and putting her back down until she has been in pac n play an hour. Poor thing just screams. Mom mentioned she has been nursing her all night. These parents (who I love truly but their sleep training :confused they drove their son around in the car to get him to fall asleep until he was 3!
