    Uv-c air purifier?

Does anyone have one of these for their daycare space? They claim to kill 97% of viruses and germs in the air- effectively reducing/eliminating sickness and illness. Now, I imagime these stats are based on a traditional household and not a daycare but it makes me wonder if it would at least cut down on the colds and snotty noses during winter?

DCB had a snotty nose for the last 2 days but no other symptoms. But today I woke up with a heavy chest, and a tender throat. Which means I'm getting sick too. UGH!

Does anyone have one of these in their space? Do they work as they claim? A small one that purifies up to 1300 sq feet(the entire size of my house) runs about $100. If it works, I'll totally spend that to get rid of the majority of the germs that are floating around. But if not, I'll save my money

I don't have one of those, but we did install a hepa filtration system on our furnace and central air. We also have a uva/uvb water filtration system (it's safe to drink even in a boil water advisory). It cut down on my families sickness, and my ds's inhaler usage BIG TIME. We also removed all carpeting and steam our area rugs weekly, crack a window atleast once a day for fresh air, don't oversanitize, wash hands quite a bit, eat healthy etc.

I'm thinking about adding a hepa filter to our furnace as well. But those are just supposed to remove dust, dander and particles which I'm sure would help immensely sincr we have two dogs. But if the UV-c filter works like it's supposed to, it actually kills the bacteria and virus' germs that are in the air so they're not floating around getting everyone else sick too.
