Is this safe for babies?

Looks like you've already gotten the info that you were looking for. I just wanted to add, that I take the smaller toys and put them in a lingerie bag and throw them in the dishwasher. Works like a charm. I also do not clean toys as they're mouthed. Those poor kids wouldn't have any toys left.

Any toy that I take from a mouth of any child will not return back during a current day because "toys don't like if some one put them into a mouth and if that happen they get offence and go away". I wash them after business hours and then return back to the play room.- Flag

Thanks everyone. You've been very helpful. The method I've used/described was taken step by step from a highly regarded daycare/preschool in Nashville TN, where my daughter worked for a time. Right down to the bleach/water solution in a bucket on a counter (far away from the children, like mine) followed by air drying.
I find it interesting that each state has their own (different from other states) regulations... but I wonder why some say bleach, some say no bleach, etc."Be careful what you teach. It might interfere with what they are learning."
