    Remidner Quesiton

I know this probably seems like a silly question -

I made some minor contract changes that as of this moment do not affect my families. All families are on the new contract except one. I gave DCM the new updated contract last Friday with a note outlining the changes and asked her to fill the new contract out, sign it and return to me no later then tomorrow. I have not received anything yet. Should I remind mom about this today at pick up? She also has not brought up any questions regarding the changes.

On one hand I feel like I should say a little reminder on the other hand - I don't feel like I should. WWYD?

I would give a friendly reminder and leave it at that.
What's the consequence for not returning it ?

I would just ask that it is returned by tomorrow. Personally, I would just tell them that licensing requires current contracts on file (mine does) and that I need it in my home in case of an inspection.

Ultimately if a family doesn't bring back a contract they are termed. I can't have anyone in my care who wouldn't sign a contract. That doesn't mean I would have termed he immediately though, I would have given her another day or so to return the contract. Mom brought it today though, so all is well I just always walk the fine line between giving reminders to parents and not.

I know what you mean. I feel like "why should I have to remind parents of everything?" but then I think "well maybe they simply forgot"

I also have issues with reminding grown adults to do things they are suppose to do.

I post a list on the bulletin board in the entry way above the sign in/out sheet when things that need to be returned go out.

As each person returns the requested paperwork/item, I cross their family name off the list.

No one likes to see their name be the last one on the list.

Yes, it's a bit embarrassing but it contains NO confidential info so I use it every time. Works fantastic by the way.

                  Great idea!

I've only had one family that I had to remind constantly to bring papers back, have had to make multiple copies, and usually will turn in the papers all wrinkly, had to send multiple texts, make multiple calls. Ridiculous!
