My crazy dcm didn't show up with dcb today. I called left a message this morning asking if he was coming and she just called me back. She claimed that their phones got shut off and she could just now call me.
Long story short, they took last week as their once a year non-paid vacation. Dcm said that she's trying to get disability and isn't working and that dcd has a concussion (he went in 2 weeks ago for it) and his symptoms are getting worse so he's not working. She said that they can't pay for dc right now, that she had to borrow money to feed her kids this weekend so she can make a payment plan or something. I told her that I understand, but I have bills to pay and that per contract, she needs to give me a 2 week notice and that I need to find someone to replace him. She said sorry, and that she was going to go to dhs and would I take dhs pay, I don't. She is coming tomorrow to get his stuff and I would like to give her a term letter.
I feel bad that this family is on hard times, but this is my income. I talked to dh and he said that we aren't hurting for money, to make a payment plan, but dcm said she has NO money. This family has done many things during their time here and although I do feel kind of bad for them, part of me doesn't. Is that bad?
Can anyone help me write a term letter please?! I have in my contract that they must give a 2 week notice or pay in lieu of. I also have a $10 a day late fee, which I may waive, but not sure if I should.
