    Car Seat Safety Pamphlet

    Hi Everyone,

It's been awhile since I posted and I've missed the forum! I've been so busy with the baby that I haven't really had time to do anything besides browse around.

Anyway, it has come to my attention that one set of my parents have been using the carseat as a booster seat for their 2 year old, 30 pound little girl instead of using a 5-point harness. Everything that I've read has stated the child should be at least 4 years old or 40+ pounds before using the car's seat belt to secure a child into a booster seat. I don't want to come across as telling the parent how to parent, so I thought sending out a reminder pamphlet with the normal monthly newsletter would be a better idea. It just worries me that they drive around a very large city filled with plenty of bad drivers with their little peanut in inadequate safety restraints.

Am I crossing the line by sending out a pamphlet or should I just stay out of it? Does anyone know where I can find a pamphlet for car seat safety?

Could you give a pamphlet to everyone so it doesn't appear to be pointing fingers? ETA do you do a newsletter? Perhaps it could go out with a newsletter.

Do this. I would also tell each parents local law enforcement are cracking down on seatbelt/ car seat enforcement for the holidays (usually a true statement) so it doesn't look like you're singling out any family for their behavior.

Yes, I was a car seat tech for twelve years. I'm not sure what your state laws are... They are all different, but a child should be in a 5-point harness until 40 lbs.
