Your DCK Asks When Mom's Coming To Pick Them Up???

I have 2 toddler 1 of them was full time with mom for the past 3 years.They ask when mom come to pick me up?I see here few kids cry to not go home...
I know they wanted to see mommy,and they just getting used to the daycare.When they ask, I said mommy coming after work and they go play.We do many things every day...they always happy...not when I put in time out

Ok ...mommy say's when they are at wanted to come to daycare...:confused:

For some children, I really feel like it becomes a security blanket due to the frequency of it being asked. Most of my children here do NOT ask it because we discuss our schedule often and I always include, "...and THEN we will go home with our mommy or daddy!"

I do have ONE that is part-time who will ask it hourly or more if you allow it. I used to answer her and it worsened. She does have a great time here, so that isn't the issue. I was trying the, "Go play. " method for awhile but it did not work. So now, I ask her the same question she asks me. It seems to be working. She can answer it herself.

My kids LOVE coming in, but also LOVE going home. I've never had a child crying that they didn't want to leave me. That's fine, as I take it to mean their parents are doing it right
One of the reasons I keep my hours shorter than the average provider is because I've noticed that once pick ups start, kids tend to get anxious. By not offering late hours, it cuts the pick up time window which helps ease the anxiety, somewhat. That said, "When will my mommy get here?" "Is mommy coming?!" are all normal questions. I keep answers short and sweet, "mommy will be here soon!" And then redirect them to a busy activity until said parent arrives.
Edited to add, like Entropy, I have a picture schedule of our day. My kids don't ask during the day (unless they are very new)I notice it mostly as other kids start getting picked up.

Second time, "We already talked about that. Do you remember what I said?"
Third time, "You know the answer to that question."
Repeat #3 as needed.

I have one who asks. Everyone else answers her, I never have to "YOUR MOM COMES AFTER SNACK!" ::

I have had a few kids cry at pick up. Most are just happy to see their parents.

I have one pt dcg that asks frequently when she is here. I think she's just looking for reassurance since she is usually at home or with Gma. I tell her, "we have so much fun here, and then it's time to go home". I try to walk away and busy myself as I tell her, because if I make eye contact, she gets all teary eyed- she's such a sweet little girl. Anyway, dcm told me she cries at home because she wants to come here, so I guess I'm doing something right ::

Don't let it bother you. It is not because they don't want to be with you, they just want to be with Mom more which is great. If all is well at home, kids should prefer to be with their parents.

At this age, they have no concept of time but if you keep things pretty routine they will get used to the idea that Mom comes after nap or after snack. You can remind them of that when they ask and then redirect them to an activity.

I sometimes also take a minute to cuddle a child who is asking often since I believe they are truly missing Mom.

My children know our routine so I'll ask "When do you think mommy is coming?" and they'll say "After work" or "After snack" and I'll say "Yup! Mommy is coming (repeat what they said)."

Sometimes we'll get into a discussion of who's being picked up by whom: mommy, daddy, grandma, etc. IMO they want reassurance that they're not forgotten by mommy/daddy rather than really wanting to know when they're going home.
