    Adjusting Rates

I'm just curious how you handle rates for kids that go to school (part time or full time), but are still in your care for some of the day and their younger siblings that are not in school.

Currently, I have a dcg who is 4 and will be going to Pre-K next year and her brother is 1 1/2. I do a flat rate of $240 per week for both kids. I did a flat rate, because my policy is, they still pay whether their kids are here or not (they do not pay if I close the daycare for any reason like vacation, illness, emergency).

It seems like I would go to an hourly rate (maybe for both kids), but I still want to have that policy in there. Is that the way other providers have done this?

I charge seperately for each child even if they are siblings. One flat weekly rate for before / after school . And another weekly rate for full or part time children.

so if my before / after school rate is 55 and my full time rate is 125 , that makes 180 per week for both.

I would still charge $120 for the younger and go to $80 for the part time kid, unless part time kid is over 20 hours. If PT goes over 20 hours a week, I'd still charge the full $120
