    Changing Hours?

Hi everyone It feels good to be back on here! As I'm reading through recent posts, I'm again thankful for the input and care that everyone on here gives... I should hop on here weekly just for the boost!

My question for today: How have you gone about changing your hours? I am considering opening one hour later each day so that I am able to have some much needed personal time before my day begins... (somehow I think everyone can relate to that!)

I only have three families. One is already using the hours I would prefer. 7:30-5:30. One drops off at 6:30 two days and 7:30 two days. The third family pays full time, but only comes 1-3 days per week. Their drop off is 6:30 with pick up 5-5:30 (my longest days)

I am willing to "loose" the third family if need be, but am wondering the best way to break it to all families that I'm opening an hour later starting Jan 1st. An email notice? A written letter put in diaper bag? Verbally?

Also, do you think there's anything ethically wrong with doing this? I've had one family for just two months, and the other for 5 months. (the families that would be affected) I am trying to take care of myself so I don't burn out down the road!

Also, we do have a signed agreement that states the hours and tuition. The hours would change to one less hour available, but tuition would stay the same. Everyone has had the same hours available and tuition.

If I change something before contract renewal Jan. 1, I will print out an amendment to current contract and keep a signed copy in each client's file. Whatever you decide to do, do so in a non-negotiable way....tell the parents that may be upset that they are welcome to find other child care but this is the way ms.xxx child care program will run from now on to benefit my own family. Good luck!
