    Screeching Baby

I have a 6 month old that has found her voice. She will screech at the top of her longs over and over again all day long. She doesn't make any other noise. Its how she plays and talks. I have listened to it for 3 weeks every day all day long! for 10 hours a day! and I honestly don't think I can take much more. She is a wonderful baby and I really don't want to term over this, but OH MY. I don't know what to do.

The only thing I've ever found that has helped is to have a reaction such as "Shhh, gentle voice, soft words please".

I know she is only 6 months old but with a little patience, rinsing and repeating as well as role modeling what noise level you want her to use her voice at, that's all I've got.

Hoping she gets over it quickly.

If not, you might just have to invest in a good pair of ear plugs.

You say it jokingly-I DO have earplugs here! When I get a migraine, it's the only way I can deal with working through it (it mutes a lot of that annoying background noise, but I can still hear the kids just fine.)

You gotta do what you gotta do to get through the day and maintain your sanity.

I'd probably invest in some too if I had to

I have an 11 month old who screeches all day! She just started coming here last month and didn't do it for the first two weeks she was here and now....oh wow! I'm hoping it's a phase and she stops soon, I have a headache everyday.

When I worked in a center, I had a screecher there and it was horrible! I couldn't wait to take a break or go for a walk with the kids. Eventually she stopped doing it, I'm hoping that's the case now!
