How do you insure you house stays clean ? Do you clean straight through nap time? I like to take that 30-45 mins to relax... Should I be doing more cleaning?

I spend about an hour before I open cleaning which includes vacuuming, dusting and more heavy cleaning. The kids clean up their own mess as they make it. All of my toys are placed in bins with lids by category. A bin comes out and they play. When they are done with those toys they clean up and put away before they take out anything else. I run loads of laundry during the day and sort and gang at nap time. I try to clean up snacks and lunch as they are eating and washing up afterwards. I can then rest as soon as the doors close at pick up time.- Flag

Truth be told.....you can't ensure that your house is clean all the time.
I think most parents like to know that we are spending more time with the kids than we are on worrying about how tidy the house is at pickup.
Also, you need your break to relax and recharge so don't feel bad about taking it.
I tidy the house while dcks play first thing in the AM because they play well at that time. I throw in a load of laundry, make beds, put breakfast dishes in dishwasher and run it. I also clean the toilets daily while they play. I often have to do the finger prints in the windows every day as well.
While they eat snack I unload the dishwasher.
We clean up all toys before lunch and during the first 30 min. of nap I tidy kitchen, reload dishwasher from lunch, wash table and sweep. I then make a cup of coffee and watch tv while I fold laundry.
Then I relax.
I tidy the kitchen from afternoon snack before outdoor time as they finish up. They help me.
We tidy up the toys at 4h30 and have tv time or table activities until pick up. I prepare supper during that time. As soon as last DCK leaves I pass the vacuum in the playroom and I swiiffer mop the kitchen after supper.
Hope this helps
Also I deep clean on the weekends. The whole family helps.- Flag

I have a down pat routine that I follow daily. If I don't, something doesn't get done. I think it's all about finding your own routine and balance. I do a LOT of prep work. I prep daycare lunch as much as possible the night before. I make my own kids lunches, my lunch, all in advance.
I get up at 4:30 work out and shower. I am ready by 5:30, I supervise my oldest two kids getting ready/off to school but I do most of my paperwork, curriculum prep, personal paperwork while sipping on coffee. I also do a load of laundry and put it away every morning before I open.
I empty the dishwasher from dinner before I go to bed, so I only have to run it after lunch the following day. I put that away before I wake the kids from nap.
They clean up their own messes throughout the day. We have stations that they clean before moving on to the next. All toys are cleaned up before lunch.
Once I have 1-2 kids left, we do table activities and I clean the playroom and daycare bathroom during that time.
I take a break at nap every day. At this point, I have been up for 8 hours. I need some down time.
The only things I can't do are deep cleaning/sanitizing my playroom and cleaning the rest of my house during daycare hours. Honestly, those aren't things I SHOULD be doing while I am working anyway, so Sunday mornings is my 'clean like a mad woman' day.- Flag

I hired a housekeeper. Business deduction
On a daily basis I keep things tidy as we go. Toys are put back as soon as they are done, and we clean up the playroom before moving on. I quickly wipe down, sweep and damp mop the kitchen after meals as necessary. I will set the kids up with a table activity and wipe down the bathroom if needed (I also do this every evening after day care) Laundry room is right off my kitchen so I toss loads in throughout the day as needed (and the kids help!) I also have a dc assistant and when she comes I use the time to throw out things and organize which helps keep the house clean and tidy. I basically looks for places in my day where I can do a chore (reasonably while still working).
But like someone mentioned, I don't worry about my home being spotless. One, we live here:: and two, I'm too busy with the kids to be cleaning all the time.

I know a lot of providers that all they do is clean and you can tell thats all they do because there is not a toy out of place. I like to keep things straight but I don't worry to much about it. The hubby and I wiz through the house on weeknds and do the scrubbing. I empty the dw while kids are eatting and sometimes do laundry. My dc is in the middle of my house so there is no guessing that I work with kids. I would say that my house is not spotless but it is clean.I take a break everyday at nap time (like now)Dont short yourself on time for yourself!
