We're hosting a 'holiday party' for the kids on a Saturday evening. The kids will come and eat pizza and watch a movie, and parents can go on a date or get some xmas shopping done or whatever. 4 - 8 pm, for free. Everyone has signed up, the second weekend in Dec.
The kids are making plates for their parents, the kind that they draw and then we send in to be made into plates.

I really like this! I thought the parents would really appreciate a parent night out for a couple of hours free of charge but I don't know that I am up for a long day/evening with the kids.

I make really good peanutbutter fudge so I give all my famlies a big plate of fudge. They look forward to it all year.

The dcks make something for the parents and I always send a plate of goodies home or a bread of some kind with all. Well, I guess I do give them something I've baked. But that's it. And since I've been without a camera for most of the year, I can't do anything with pictures either. One year I took pictures all year long and then did a calendar made out of poems, handprint picture each month along with a picture of their child. It was a LOT of work, they came out super cute and I think 1 dcp said thanks. So I decided I'd never do those again. I would have been thrilled getting something like that when my kids were small.
            Anyways, I digress.
I think some of the best gifts are homemade baked goods. Especially since many families are often too busy or simply don't know how to bake.

Fudge is also a good one.

I always host Christmas with our family at my house. I always bake like crazy and make boxes to send home with each family member. DH's side of the family loves baked goods, but never bake themselves so treats are always looked forward to. Perhaps I will just make extra baked goods and then the snowman ornament for each kid.
