    Parents

What advice would you give to other providers about dealing with parents? One thing I learned is that you have to think/do for yourself. Don't give any parent special treatment/hours....or it will bite you in the butt. Or it has for me anyways.

Treat them with respect, but remember that you are not their employee. They are contracting with you for a service, but they are not your boss.

Enforce your policies from day one or parents will always think they are "optional".

      NEVER undervalue your services.
If YOU respect and value what you do/offer, clients follow suit.

NEVER allow a parent's issue to be your issue.
You can sympathize but sympathy is an emotion NOT an action.

Learn to say "let me think about that and get back to you with an answer" when asked a question. I am still working on this one myself.

Stick to your rules always. No exceptions.

I treat them with respect and expect the same treatment in return. I also go over my contract with them paragraph by paragraph before they start.
