One Thing You Never Want To Hear A Parent Say

in the morning at drop off. This morning colicky boys mom says, "He was up all night long, so hopefully he naps and is good for you today." Ugh. This usually spells disaster for me. And so far, that is holding true. He is just so tired that he doesn't know what to do with himself.

Another dcmom says, "X came into our room last night, he never has done that." Ok, that raises a red flag too. Could be an interesting day.

What are some things that you hear in the morning that cause your outlook to change? LOL.

There's always the "It's been a ROUGH morning with little Johnny. Good luck today!!"

But honestly, whenever I hear that, it seems that little Johnny is just fine with me!

I get alot of "blah was bad last night for us" most parents only have their kids for only 4 hours at night, so I just don't understand how they can be so bad in such a short time when I have them for 10 hours a day and they are for the most part really good. It drives me nuts every day.

I have 6 families and only 2 of them have their kids for 4 hours a night. Heck, the rest of them don't have them for more 3 waking hours a DAY. Oddly, it is ALWAYS those parents who can't wait for Monday so that they can hand their kids back over.

I hate the "Sorry we're late, Billy wanted to finish his cheeto's before we came." or "Ah, what a morning, Susie did not want to get up. I just couldn't convince her to do anything so she just woke up a few minutes ago."

I could choke parents when I hear that!

Oh yeah it is bad. I have a family that doesn't come until after I serve breakfast so they have to eat at home. Well mom can't be bothered to get her butt out of bed so she tells middle daughter (3 y.o.) to get baby sister breakfast. So usually its pizza, mac and cheese, cheeto's, chips, candy... whatever is handy. It's always fun guessing each day what they had for breakfast!

You mean you can't see it on their clothes/jammies?

Had a mom yesterday that carried her sleeping 3-year old into preschool yesterday. It's PRESCHOOL mom! Would you bring her to kindergarten completely asleep! I thought it would not be a good day, but I told mom to go ahead and stand her up and get her boots off, it's time to start! ...she did just fine. whew!

This hasn't for awhile, but one of my part-time families used to walk in at 11:00am (lunch at 11:30, naptime at 1:00) and say 'They just didn't want to get up and they just ate' .

Way to screw up my day....

"Suzy didn't have time for breakfast. Can you give her this donut to eat." (in front of 5 other kids who would love a donut, too!)

"I forgot my checkbook." (Monday morning at drop off.)

"Can I pick her up an hour late since I brought her an hour late. I want to get my money's worth."

"I forgot the diapers." (After you've been asking for more for the last 2 weeks and you warned them that as of last night, you're completely out of them.)

"He felt a little warm this morning but I'm sure he'll be okay."

"She's been constipated all weekend so I gave her lots of Miralax this morning. Get read for the explosion!"

"I told her if she was good today we will go to Target after daycare and get the toy she wanted"

"Mittens?, Oh, was I suppose to bring them today?"

"I don't think he feels that good today so I'd like him to stay inside"

"She wanted to use the paints at home, but I didn't have time so I told her she could paint when she got here"

"Didn't I tell you she was going to be here today?"

"I hope you don't mind but he wanted to watch Ninja Turtles at home but I told him he could bring it here."

"I couldn't get her to leave this in the car..."

                          :confused::confused::confused:

Just to warn you, DCK has had a few accidents this morning....

Sorry I"m late, DCK didn't want to get ready.

DCK didn't want to let go of said toy, so here it is. Good luck taking it away.

DCK is pretty defiant today but I know all kids go through it so it's ok. Have a great day.
