    12 Hours

How many of you do them and how do you survive. I am going on my last hour of a 12 hour day and honesty I am about to lose my mind. How do you guys survive these days?

Agreed...I think the last 2 hours are way longer than the first 5 are!! I am short and very direct by the end of the day...sometime I feel bad for parents who try to discuss thing with me at end of day....rarely a good time... you do get used to it though....

I couldn't do them. Even when I do full days I can only stand 10 at most. Even those seem long to me!!

I used to do 11 1/2 or 12 hr. days. When I moved, then I first changed it to 10 hrs. now I have 9 1/2 hr. days. OMG!!! What a difference in all of it!! Those of you that can change your hours, it is definately worth it!! Less stress, less hrs. less everything. Maybe you can start by lessening your hrs. by 1/2 hr. then more and more every yr. or when children go off to school/preschool, etc..

For 9 years I opened at 6:00 am and closed at 11:00 pm. Right now I have a great schedule 8:30 am to 3:30, but new clients starting the first of the year and wont get picked until 6:00, and then we will see if I take the little boy that will be here till 8:00.

I always get out our Potatoe Heads the last hour and my kids LOVE them and the time goes by so fast!! Also towards the end of the day the kids LOVE helping me clean toys. I give them wet ones and they clean like mad...haha. I will dump out the legos and they will clean every one. They love helping, even though I go back over them later with clorox.

If you are going to be open until 6:00 and that is added hours than what you currently have, I would only offer care until 6:00 pm. Do you charge the $105/week for those from 8:30 am until 3:30 pm or is that part time?
