Safe Sleeper Bed Rail Off Topic

Sorry this has nothing to do with daycare but the other night we moved my 2 yr old from a toddler bed to a big girl twin bed. She fell off that first night onto her face and got a black eye (thankfully the floor is carpeted) but we went out to our local Walmart and bought a dex baby safe sleeper bed rail. Its put together right, works great except the hinges seem to be stuck and it will not fold down. Anyone have any experience with this bed rail? Any ideas would be great. Thanks

I used bed rails with both my own children. One night I heard my DS gasping. His pillows had pushed his head down on the side of the bed and his chin was over the rail. He almost choked.

A good substitute is a pool noodle under the fitted sheet on the side of the bed. Good luck!

I just put my kids' mattresses on the floor so if the rolled out they didn't go far. Once they got used to that, I got them actual beds and they never had a problem.
