My Spidey-Senses are Working Good or Over-Reacting....Not Sure!

I have had this almost 2yo for about a year. The dcd works with my son. The dcm does my hair in trade for some of the dc. There have been no issues that I know off although they do seem to be maybe not quite as talkative as usual recently. My son and the dcd did "get into it at work" about a month ago but ds said it is all good now. They bring a bag every day with dcboys items but they have always left a blanket for him here in his pak-n-play.

Today at pick-up dcd said dcm wanted him to bring the blanket home. They have never taken it home before. It has been here for a whole year. I wash it.

My hubby (who knows NOTHING about dc) thinks it is no biggie. It just seems odd to me. Like are they going to not show up next week or something.

This IS weird. But it may not be a withdrawal. Maybe something is going on with them personally and that's why they've been distant. But that doesn't explain the blanket...

Maybe they want to wean him off the blanket?

Although whenever I think something is off, dh thinks I'm overreacting and then it turns out I'm right.

So...maybe something is bugging them? Wouldn't hurt to ask how things are going or if they are satisfied with your services...just keep it casual...maybe see if dcd will spill the beans. ::

That would be a red flag for me, and I would immediately panic- but I over analyze everything. I think the suggestion that they may be weaning him off is reasonable, so maybe. Me? I would be advertising and freaking out ::

When there has been a scuffle of some kind and a client takes home belongings that usually stay here it has always indicated that they are not returning. Hopefully, this won't mean that...

Yeah...I tend to think that way too. I had a family leave after dcd changed job hours...they didn't say anything at first but they did take home their spare clothes one day...then they emailed a term letter and didn't attend the 2 weeks (but did pay) since they needed care outside of my hours. Le sigh...oh well...hope this isn't the case.

Thinking positive for you and hoping it is just a weaning thing...

I'm with you, I freak out about stuff like that too.

Hoping it's nothing! Keep us posted!

Dcboy is not a blanket baby. Besides washing it never leaves his bed so I don't think it is a weaning thing. Dcd is always telling my ds how he would never take dcboy anywhere else. I really have no idea other than it seemed odd. I guess we'll see.

Do they not come on Fridays?
Maybe they got a new one he wants to bring in? I hope it's nothing, but I understand your concern completely.

No he does not come on Friday.

I am trying to go down in numbers so if I lose him it is okay, but he is not the kid I would choose to go. 😞

Yesterday dad and I were talking about our hospital being one of the 4 that is Ebola ready in the USA and I told him that 2 of the other moms work there. But we don't even have an Ebola patient here yet.

                    I guess time will tell.
