I was closed today. Gave out the days I was closed for the entire year the first week of January. I also verbally remind and offer a sticky note with the days I am closed for the month on one of the first couple days of the month depending on the days I have kids scheduled. I haven't put a sign on my door because I only have one DCG and I thought it would be kind of rude to put a sign up when DCM knows she is the only one.
Woke up at 6:45 this morning to DCM banging on my door. I went out and reminded her I was closed. She handed me a pumpkin pie which made me less irritated about being woken up and she didn't argue with me so that's good
Luckily there was no exceptions. My licensing doesn't allow me to open once I have given them my scheduled of closed holidays and they will cite me if they happened to find out I was caring for kids on a closed holiday.
