10 Month Old and Milk Again?

I posted a while back about a mom wanting her 10 month old to only be on whole milk. Well I of course told her I needed a doctors note and she provided one. Well in the last month the baby has has a horrible time with it. She would scream on the floor because of belly aches from the milk. I told the mom it wasn't working and she wasn't ding well but she refused to put her back on formula and kept her on milk. Well I finally recorded one of her spells and told the mom that something needed to be done and if it wasn't I would handle it myself. She showed up today and said that the doctor said to only give her water and straight apple juice to drink, as well as miralex. I once again told her I needed a doctors note. Why would a doctor take milk or formula away from a baby and want her to only have water or juice? Am I missing something? I thought alot of water at that age could be harmful. Not to mention I now have a baby that is pooping water, and screaming because she wants milk in her sippy. I have already confronted mom and I am 100% ready to term or loose her. But would a doctor really say that?

Only if doc was told baby was suffering from constipation. IMHO, of course.

A docs point would be that cows milk is not necessary in the diet and nutrition should be coming from a balanced diet of table foods now. Formula would be best, but obviously they feel that phase of life is over. 11 months, now, right? Just a few weeks early...

    Does child eat well?

Yes she is a good eater (at least here anyway) I usually do breakfast, then they had me give her a bottle in between breakfast and lunch, then a bottle after nap. And she has been doing fine with out one. She just eats more at each setting. I had just never heard of doc doing that. I also don't understand the miralax once a day. If the milk is the problem (which now she is pooping fine) then why still give the miralax?

Most likely the miralax was intended to be temporary. Once constipation is resolved, cut back the milk to the normal recommended guidelines.

3 full bottles of milk (assuming parents give an evening bottle as well), per day, is way too much. Do the same as for the two year olds: 1/2 cup milk with meals, 1/2 cup juice with snacks and water throughout and everything should be fine.
