Is it pick up time yet?!

OMG what a crazy morning! And it's only 9am!

Every child showed up crying today, wanting Mommy. Then the kids were all arguing, being fresh.

I had an infant 3mo that was just dropped off, as mom was walking out the door 2 boys were arguing, one went to grab the other so I instinctively reached out to stop him and told the boys to knock it off. Of course I was holding the 3 mo old and as I reached out and said stop I scared him and he kind of fell backward a little. I caught him with my other arm right away, but he cried a little, mostly scared from me being stern with the boys. Of course the baby's mom saw this all and came back in to see if he was ok.

It was the craziest 20 minutes ever! I had to just stand there and take a breath as all but one child (the 5 month old) was crying. I decided to let them watch tv for a bit and they calmed down and are now happy.

Is the day over yet?! ::

So sorry it's been rough! At least there's only one more day of drop offs this week. I understand how awkward it can be when parents see something going "wrong", very nerve wracking. Hang in there!

Why does it all happen at once? I had a similar situation the other day....things were going haywire, and I got a little short with a kid over something, then dcgma appeared in the doorway. I've known her a long time--she used to be a dcm here. Anyway, I said, "I'm so sorry...it's not usually like this." She said, "Please! I couldn't do this--one kid wears me out!" Made me feel better--we're all human....even us dc providers.

 We have had a pretty awful day too, not so much the crying, but the not listening and complete defiance. A few more hours, we can get through it.
