      Fluff!::::::
      Guess I'm immature, but I think this thread is hilarious.

        I don't care for the word fart, it just doesn't sound cute coming from a cute little 2 year old girl (or boy). I correct them "we use the word toot, not fart" sometimes they catch themselves and say toot instead

        The parents all say it at home so it's a losing battle

          We say gas..."Oh, I gassed. Excuse me." Fart doesn't bother me really. We just have always said gassed.

            All my DCKs burst into uncontrollable laughter whenever anyone says the word fart. I think it's funny LOL

            As long as they don't keep saying it over and over again, I will just laugh along with them and sometimes I will pretend to fall over from the smell.

            They love it and it is innocent fun.

            I don't think it is a terrible word. I often say it myself when I get a whiff of something nasty. "Hey you stinkers...who farted?" and then the giggling starts.

              Just had to add this !
              Dcg 3 is saying she smells poop, no poop to be found. She says "someone farted". Remembering this thread, I said in my British accent. "Perhaps someone has fluffed in your general direction." Omg, she was rolling on the floor laughing. My husband spit his coffee out of his nose. ::

                  My DH and I don't get upset about words, because they're just words. We tell our kids that certain words offend some people so they should save those words for when they're alone so they don't bother anyone else.

                  Personally, some words bug me and "fart" is one of those - I prefer "toot."

                    I have a no potty talk rule. Any words related to using the restroom, private parts, tooting etc only belong in the bathroom. They can say them all they want in the bathroom ::
