This must be why I don't get calls

DH was sitting at a shipper this morning and looking at facebook on his phone. He calls me and tells me to check one of the swap sites. There is a lady looking for care for her toddler and infant. I PMed her, but there were 5 illegal daycares who posted saying "I wouldn't charge much". She had said she didn't want to pay a ton in her post. One of the responses was "I wouldn't charge much my 5 month old needs a playmate" HUH? Anyway apparently there are a ton of people doing this around here.

I see this a TON on our facebook selling pages too! Some even looking for a sitter for that day. Like who would leave their child with a person they found on facebook the same day???? I just post that I run a registered home daycare and if that is the type of environment they are looking for they can check out my website and contact me. I don't even try to compete with the ones who will just plop the kid in front of the tv for $20/day when my rates are nearly double that.

This is constant here. But they are legally unlicensed... "Cheap rates! My baby just needs a friend "

We get a ton of those on Facebook here too. Usually I ignore them, but if one looks particularly annoying or clueless, I'll post a link to DCFS's licensing standards. They are almost always unlicensed and operating illegally.

Here you have to have a license to take care of any unrelated children in our home. Either people do not know this or don't care.

I had a lady post saying she would ONLY pay $75 week for her infant and she had at least 5 illegal daycares offering. HOLY COW.
