    Not sure what to say

Ok so today my 4 1/2 year old son asked my 4 year old dcg to pull her pants down.. I stayed calm and talked with him about it, of course at first he lied to me but when I told him he would not get in trouble for telling the truth he admitted to it. I asked him why he asked her and he replied with he wanted to know why they was different.. I know this is normal to be curious we was all there at one time. But how do I explain it dcm? I don't want anyone to look at my child like he is preverted, he was curious and I sat down with him alone and talked to him about it. I'm sick over it, and just need some advice.

    Thanks, Manda

Did she go through with it or did you get them before it came to that?

I guess either way I would say to mom (using my reassuring BTDT kind of tone) "We have had some curiosity with bodies and different parts. It's bound to happen at this age, they notice everything! - gotta love it! I just wanted you to be aware."

I almost don't know if I'd go further with it for now. So long as they weren't playing "doctor" while you were in the bathroom and it seems like normal curiosity I'd hesitate to make it a BIG DEAL. This is a day care and a family day care at that - as much as I try to impress on the kids to call me in if they need help, I can't count the number of times a child has walked out of the bathroom in a various stage of undress. Or I've changes babies in front of other kids, etc. I've been asked more than once where so and so's penis is, or why does he have that THING there?!::

If it truly went down like you said (your son just wanted to check out a different part) then no harm no foul. But the onus is on you to keep close supervision to make sure that's all there is and it's not going somewhere else...

She did not go through with it, I was cooking and they was in the living room, she came and told me.

One child in the bathroom at a time. That takes care of anything actually happening.
Curiosity is fine, and can be expressed with words, and answered with words.
