    Ewww! Nose picking

I have a 4 1/2 yr old dcg who yesterday was picking her nose and was rolling it. I noticed her rolling something and asked what it was and she said "a fuzzy"
I said oh let me see and she tried to wipe it on my carpet. IN MY FAMILY ROOM!! mind you. This is where MY family hangs out. I said, don't drop it I want to see it. So she rolled her eyes and showed me.
Yuck it was a booger. I said that is not ok to pick your nose and especially wipe it on my carpet. Sent her to throw it away and wash hands.
I am constantly asking her if she needs a tissue whenever I see her go for her nose. I found a booger on the playroom wall just the other day too. I guess I know where it came from now.
How do I get her to stop? I do not want boogers on my families things. Couch, carpet, etc. I do not need to use my family room for space requirements, but that is where they nap and such. Any ideas would be great.
    Thanks

Ew! I'd keep an eye on her and have her use a tissue, wash her hands every time she picks her nose. Eventually she'll get tired of having her play interrupted. I'd also give her a wipe and have her clean up any boogers she leaves around the house. Also talk to Mom to see if she's doing it at home, and what they do about it.

Thanks. I told mom and she was like" yuck" but almost clueless. Says "huh, I have never seen her pick her nose."
I just think parents don't pay any attention lately. I see several kids out and about picking their nose right in front of their parents and they say nothing.
I will have her wash her hands each time I catch her and see how that goes.

Parent know it, they just don't care. If I catch a kid picking their nose in front of a parent, I tell DCP, "You need to correct that behavior. If I catch them I will tell them to put it in their pocket for you to take care of. We don't do boogers in DC." You should see the horrid look on DCP's face,

I have a reformed nose picker. Not only would she pick she'd eat the boogies. Whenever I caught her I'd seriously gag. I couldn't even help it. Now that she doesn't do it anymore she is super proud of herself and tells everyone, "I don't pick my nose anymore", even if no one was talking about it.

They DON'T care, you're right. I had one that taught her 4-year-old to flick boogers off his finger when he had them. WHAT?! I told him, "No. Go get a tissue and then you need to wash your hands."
