2 yrs & 4 Months and Mean to Others

Is this normal 2 yr old behavior? Have I just lucked out and never really had a 2-yr-old like this before?

Dck is very bright and talkative. Has been here 5 months and in the past month or so has become very mean to the other kids. Trying to block them from toys, shoving with her shoulder if they're somewhere she wants to be, giving them mean faces (:: and me, too!), etc. She also is still mouthing nearly everything...which I really have only dealt with once. That one is tiresome since my group really doesn't do this.

How do you curb "mean" in a 2?

I have one that is like this, but he has always been that way. He started at 18 months and just turned 3. He has gotten a lot better, but it's still work in progress. He is just starting to talk so that could be a part of why he is mean, but I doubt it. I don't think this degree of aggressiveness is normal.

I have two other 2 year olds and they are mean off and on, but not all the time, which I think is normal.

She is just so randomly mean. It is odd. She definitely is more than verbal enough to say anything she needs to and she often does. Sometimes accompanies by the aggressiveness and other times not...

I have a child like this. It has gotten better with me redirecting him to his own "play area" whenever he isn't playing nicely with the others (ie, shoving, blocking, screaming, etc). He'll give me a dirty look every time I redirect him.

For him it's more fun to have free reign to choose his own toys than to have me choose his toys for him...I always tell him when he chooses to be kind to his friends (no shoving, etc), then he can choose his toys...I also try to show and model the behavior or words I expect him to use next time.
