    So Should I Call?

I had interview at noon. It is 12:15. I am wondering if I should call or what. I hate it when I sit around and people just don't show up.

I would. Then if she's like "Oh, I decided..." You can say that she was rude for not calling. Not that rude people care that they're rude. :/

So I called grandma who said "oh I forgot to call you, mom is out of town". UM ok so you do or don't need childcare? She set another appointment for tomorrow at noon. If they don't show then I am done with them. I have sat around all morning waiting, and I have the whole house to myself today to be doing whatever I please.

I'm sorry that happened to you

In my experience when a parent does not call or show up to an appointment and then reschedules, 98% of the time they cancel or don't call/show up to the rescheduled interview either. I hope you have better luck!

Well I never had the experience when I did daycare before, but I am not counting on hearing from them tomorrow. I mean if they seriously wanted care, they would have made a point to show up today. It just upsets me because it is the weekend, I mean have some manners. I will not call tomorrow, if they are not here I will just write them off. But then if they happen to call again later I will have to decide how to proceed from there. I mean if you can't keep your interview do I really want you as a client?

Yes. Those that did come and I signed on were awful clients that never fully respected me. Showing their true colors...

Anymore I never reschedule when someone is a no call/no show. They would be the parent who would be forever disrespecting policy. Their money is not worth their hassle.

Honestly, I am thinking along the same lines I have no kids right now and we need the money. IF they show up, doesn't mean I will accept him. I hate being in the position to have to even think about it right now.

Well they just called and the mom is "going to do something else because she doesn't want to do it" whatever that means. Hopefully something will come along soon we really need the income.

No matter how bad I need clients, I stopped doing weekend interviews for my sanity. I had many parents just blow the interview off or they want to visit in the middle of the day - nope, not ruining my day off. My policies state I do 6pm or later on Tue, Wed or Thu only... don't like it, then we aren't a good fit

I will not do Monday because everyone is just getting back into the swing of things and Fridays... no, it's the end of my workweek most the time & I treat myself to dinner out (even if it's a cheap dinner).

I am hoping to get to where I can adopt some strict policies like this. I really only need three kids to get our finances in a good place. Once I get three I am going to start being very picky.

I've been living on 2 kids for 4 months with the occasional drop in & overtime... I have to live off my income alone too; I look at it this way... if you take someone who disrespects from the start just because you need kids, then you will end up miserable. I'm not willing to compromise my health because of a disrespectful situation, I stress enough as it is.

I totally get what you are saying, there are some families I am sure I would never enroll. But there are some smaller things I may be willing to overlook. I had already decided if this family didn't show up today I was done with them, and I marked that on the interview form so if they call back in a week or a month I likely won't even set an appointment.

Sadly, this is how it almost always is for people who do this.

 I hope you get some outstanding clients soon! happyface

I have only enrolled 1 family that no showed for the first interview. It did not go well! Learned my lesson.

Now when potential families set up and interview I tell them I will text them the day of to confirm and give directions to my house if necessary.

This has completely gotten rid of no shows! Because now if they have changed their minds it's easy for them to reply to my text letting me know.
