Had she said "While I AM waiting to be licensed" that would mean she doesn't. I hope- Flag

Hmm right. ...no I actually did read it but I disregarded it because if you read my original post it says "while I was waiting" I'm no longer waiting and I'm fully licensed.- Flag

Yeah I agree, some parents don't understand how we can possibly provide quality care for so many children, especially infants. My first client (also a friend) just couldn't deal with leaving her daughter for 6hrs a day, 3 days a week so she ended up finding reasons she couldn't make it work (her wage was lower than she realized because she was on a salary over 52 wks not 40hrs a week and it averaged out to much lower than she originally calculated and her husband didn't like having only one day to himself since he took Monday off to stay home with baby and switched to Tues-Sat) and it was a tough 4wks. Whatever. But I know it was anxiety about leaving her and not understanding how I could care for her 6 month old and my 8 month old. She sent me a novel of an email asking all sorts of questions and accusing me of just letting her cry because she had dried tears and the hair above her ears looked matted like she's been left on her back to cry for an extended period of time.I replied that first, let's get something straight, I never have left her to cry for any period of time. BUT she cries when she's unhappy getting in her carseat, when I have to change her diaper or set her down to change my son or any other reason she feels like crying. Babies cry. It's part of the transition for any infant being away from mom after being with her 24/7 for 6mos. But to say you think she was neglected by me is uncalled for. She back stepped and said oh no I wasn't accusing you of neglecting her... But if I did what she said I did and left a 6 month old to cry for an "extended period of time" I would consider that neglect!
She started watching a little girl PT at home and emailed me with all sorts of questions about caring for 2. LOL Funny how the tables turn.- Flag

Yep! You guys have hit it perfectly!
I have had a parent drop in to watch (open door policy) at 10:30AM before. She stayed for a couple hours and stayed out of the way - more than fine. So she watched lunch prep, lunch of 6 kiddos, lunch cleanup, playtime and then the transition to naptime.
As she said as she left "You are amazing. I can't believe how you handle all these kids!" And she was a Kindergarten teacher.- Flag

I have had a couple parents like this. They were complete nightmares. I agree stop it now or it will get worse. Tell her that her texting is really distracting you away from your job and you need to limit it only to emergencies. Everything else can be discussed at drop off and pick up.
My first nightmare parent *sent me 160 texts alone in one month. The problem just kept morphing. If I didn't respond fast enough she would get irritated. Half the time it was just to ask what he was eating or to tell me she missed him. Needless to say there were A LOT of other issues that made me term them but it did not end well at all.- Flag
