I've heard of kids getting a rash or "mini measles" after getting their MMR vaccine because it's a live weakened vaccine. DCG had her MMR Friday afternoon and today woke up from nap with a rash between her ear and mouth on one side. It doesn't look like a contact dermatitis type rash, it looks more vascular. Anyone have experience with this? My Ped's office said it's not contagious and she's fine otherwise.

I have had two toddlers get rashes after MMRs (not at the same time). One was 12 months and one was 15 months old. Both were on their chest. Both went to different Peds and came back with the same type of doctor's note - not contagious. The children had no other symptoms of illness and I allowed them into care. I did tell parents if they had any other signs accompany the rash that were new, such as a fever, they would be again sent home until it was again cleared by their Peds, etc.
Heck, I had notes from both parents warning me of possible fevers when they got their shotsMy parents know that if they take their kids to the doctor(s) for any reason to get a note for me cause it stinks to go back

I do have the picture the mom sent to me that morning showing the rash on one of the DCKs chest, just texted her and she said it was fine if I shared it with other childcare providers handling the same thing. I can send it to you if you'd like?- Flag

email - if you send me a note to ashley@daycare.com I will reply back with it
Mom didnt have the best lighting I see now, but it is pretty decent pic I guess - they were more red than in the picture and a day later it spread outward to her arms and then a day later was nearly gone- Flag
