6 Kids But One Of Them Takes 80% Of My Time

Do you ever have a kid like this?

She is driving me crazy! She is almost 3 and when she isn't having a fit, or not following directions, or telling everyone else what to do she is just plain old talking loudly. She has no manners, is rude, interrupts, cries a lot if she gets reprimanded, talks incessantly, tattles, and is bossy. Whenever another adult is here she interrupts our conversation. I tell her to wait but that is giving the attention she wants. She told me yesterday that she "is funny" so I think her family just laugh and encourage her antics.

I am so glad she is only 4 days per week = Friday will seem so quiet!

Sounds like you have some training to do. Funny how that always falls on the provider.

I have two kids like this...I just keep them too busy to bother anyone or me. I know that sounds bad, but I call it my dosage and duration.

when they talk over me, I will get down on eye-level and say susie, I really want to hear what you have to say, but I am talking to John's mom right now. I will; listen to everything you have to say when I am done. Thank you so much for listening.....then walk away or tell the child to walk away you will come get them when you are done talking.

Mine had his first full day of kindergarten today. It was WONDERFUL. I knew how much WORK he was, but until today I didn't realize just how much his behavior took over our day. Today was AMAZING. I still have him after school (where he got a TO for throwing a toy right after I told him not to ) but I can manage that. Not having to spend my day managing him: priceless.
(He has two younger sibs here who are awesome for me - great kids, etc. in my case I would not be at all surprised if the school starts making evaluation noises soon...)

I had one like that & I decided to knuckle down on her. The second she stepped out of line I asked her if it was appropriate or inappropriate. When she replied I asked her what happens when you are inappropriate? She didn't like to say the word timeout, she just walked over & sat down. If she was abusing my toys, I wouldn't let her play with them for the day. If she was bossy or mean to a kid, I would let her play with them for the day either. She would have to stay next to me with a toy she didn't like. I was one her like stink on s*** for a few weeks & never let up. She told me I was mean & hated me, to which I replied with a big grin. I praised her when she is good. She is MUCH better now.
