    New Child....

Is starting tomorrow, well first child. I'm so excited. I just wanted to know what do you all do with a child that will be the Only Child?

I do have a 5yo daughter, however she's in school and won't be home until 255p.
When those of you first started out with just one child, what did you do all day? Activities etc? I don't want her to get bored and maybe cry etc.

Please give me lots of advice.

I played with them since they had no peers. Then, more kids came. This one was my only here on tues/thurs for about 2 months or less.

Could you alternate activities (reading books, playdough, coloring, fixing lunch or snack together, open-ended craft like a collage or craft sticks) with "go play with toys for a while"? That way she will get used to the flow of childcare, even without other children.

That's my plan because I don't want her to have the privilege of doing what she want all day and then when others come she has to get with the routine . So I was thinking of just showing her how things will go just for routine purposes while doing majority of the things you've mentioned.

I would treat it like you plan to when you have a group. She will fall right in and that way when you get more, she can help teach them how your daycare works!
