Are you talking about my daughter???

Same age (almost 14 months), same behavior, preemie... Will eat til she literally overflows, screams when its over no matter how much she's had, stuffs the food down her throat without tasting it. Milk cups too...

She will tantrum at the sight of cups, plates, pots...even being in the kitchen .

I however have taught her "all done". She really gets going when she hears that, but I don't ccare. I just take her down from the table, clean her up and shoo her towards the nearest toy. She can scream if she chooses.

I also limit her starches...if bread is served, its last and she get it in tiny pieces.

Its not me that's entertaining it though...its her teachers. She's always eating...a few crackers here, Cheerios there. They gave her both of her cups before 12 yesterday...that's 16+ oz of soy milk plus breakfast and lunch in a 4 period. I hate to keep insisting but...come on.

I will ask her doctor though because she is pretty obsessed with food/eating and seems to have no "off" switch.

and the fact her teachers are allowing it... that's what is making it so difficult for you... i have an idea... we'll switch me for her teachers... and my dcb mom for you.. then we'd have a perfect set of people who GET IT!

I have the same kid! I've had him since he was 6 weeks old. He has ALWAYS tried to overeat. He's always been very large for his age, too. Today we had an awful tantrum for almost an hour before he got picked up because he saw me preparing dinner earlier than normal and thought he was going to eat, again. He was screaming bloody murder when his dad walked in the door and kept pointing to the kitchen/food on the counter and it made me feel like the parents are going to accuse me of not feeding their kid enough. He obviously eats 3x a day here, I prepare healthy, protein packed meals/snacks, and he still drinks a lot of milk. There are days when I question the amount of food I give him, give in a provide more, and he will spit up because he's so stuffed.

I was going to suggest water after meals but that obviously isn't a good idea. What about letting him eat as many green veggies as he wants? They don't have a lot of calories, have fiber and nutrition, and can help him feel full without loading up on calories. If he were a little older you could do lettuce, but he might be able to do cucumber cut in thin, small pieces.

Then I'd let him fill up on low-calorie veggies if he's still hungry after eating his other food.

I tried that.. the problem is he'll eat so much then he gets so full he spits up everywhere.

                  I was thinking this too.

Op I forgot if you said he does this at home. If he does might mention to parents to have him evaluated for Prader-Willi syndrome
