    Poopy diaper smell update - thank you Meeko!

    I've tried a lot of the suggestions over the past few days to get rid of the poopy diaper smell in the daycare.

    The best one has been the body sprays that Meeko suggested. I also am using a spray that is supposed to **** all the odor in. A medical/hospital spray. Someone else suggested that. It does work, but not completely.

    I forgot to take out the diapers yesterday and when I went downstairs to the daycare this morning, you couldn't even smell it. Whoo hoo!

    I hope this post helps someone else's nose!

    I ordered a bottle of that biological spray too and it works. I think I am going to order another bottle because I keep running to the dc room to get it for the rest of the house.

      I will need to try that - I have 4 out of my 5 kids in diapers and they are STINKY!!!!!

      I don't have the space for a diaper pail in my changing area and don't want the kind that require pricey refills (like diaper genie) when I often change as many as 8 poopy diapers a day.

      I lysol and febreeze like crazy but it doesn't work too well - body sprays work better???

        Yay me LOL!!!!! ::::

        I actually discovered it by accident. I was out of my regular air freshener and in despair, I grabbed a body spray I had been given for Christmas. It worked great and I noticed that it took forever to use it all up which meant it was good value too. Just a couple squirts does the trick and the fragrance lasts a long time. I think because the mist is so fine, it stays in the air longer.

          I am using these 3 right now. One is country apple. One is spiced caramel cider and one is cotton blossom.

          The first two are cheapies from Walmart. The third is Bath and Body Works. I like the scent (clean and fresh). That one was a gift...I am guessing the giver didn't think it was going to be poop spray ::::

          I have had these for months and they are still fairly full.

            Thanks for posting the ones you have! I need to head to Wally World (Walmart) this weekend. I love to mix up smells.

              Looking closer, the first one is BBW too. Even though theirs are more expensive, I still think they work out cheaper than air sprays because they last so long.

                The body sprays have been great! I still Lysol for the sanitizing. And yes, what it is about kids where they save up their poop for us??? I have 4 in diapers, too, and they usually have 2 BM's each. DCP's are like, "They never poop at home ..."

                  I've often wondered this. And the more I think about it, I think it's because most kids are seditary when they go home. They watch tv, play video games, etc. When they are with us they are likely moving their bodies more which helps things move along.

                    I have had the same thoughts. You gotta move to get things moving! Bwah ha ha, gross!
